Requesting a quote for a packaging machine is the first step towards purchase. But not all quotes are equal: some items are included, others hidden.
Items a complete quote must always contain
A professional quote must specify: exact machine configuration with model, version and included accessories; installation, commissioning and start-up costs; warranty duration and conditions; payment terms and delivery times from order confirmation; operator training costs.
- Machine configuration: model, chamber, pump, included accessories
- Installation and commissioning: included in price or separate?
- Warranty: minimum 12 months, what it covers, intervention times
- Delivery: weeks from order, Incoterms conditions
- Training: number of hours, location (at factory or customer site)
- Payment terms: deposit, balance at delivery or deferred
How to compare quotes from different suppliers
Comparing quotes is difficult because configurations are often not homogeneous. A quote may appear cheaper because it excludes installation (1,500-3,000 euros), training (800-1,500 euros) or necessary accessories like MAP kit. Create a comparison table with all items and add missing costs.

From quote acceptance to production start
After order confirmation, lead times for new machines are typically 6-14 weeks for chambers and tray sealers, 12-20 weeks for thermoformers. Installation requires 1-3 days for chambers and 3-7 days for complete lines. Acceptance testing must be performed with the customer's actual product.
